Hello everyone!
This is the first lesson in "Methodology" ,but you must know that this module is called "Study Skills" in first year.

Some difinitions
Skill : the ability to do some thing
Strategy :a way to do some thing
Approach :a specific way to do some thing
Methodology :a set of methods and principales used to perform a particular activity
Method :a way of dealing with some thing
Study skills/strategy :the general approach used in the process of learning
Learning strategies :action studentsfellowto perform different taskes
Learning style :is the proaches use by students
E.g. suggested by HABIBA
For example : What is the Difference between skills and strategey?

Intensive reading: is reading in detail to achieve the comprehension or do a complet research.
Previewing: is having a quick look at a material to see whether it is apprepriet for you to study or not
Extensive reading: is reading large text
Skimming: is a quick reading to get the over view of the material.
SQ3R: is a quick reading between lines when the reader looks for meaning behind other words
Realistic learner: is the learner who is aware that language learning is not any easy task and that it takes time and practice,and who tries to overcome his feelings and lack of confidence for being more affective in language learning
Motivated learner: is the one who tries to find oppertunities to practice /use the language willing to take risks
The collaborative learner: is the one who looks for oppertunities to use/share language with others ,including native speakers
Metacognitive learner: is the one who is aware of the importance of using meta cognition in language learning and who, besiedes lge class, plans for activities to use language.
